Changing 20 lives in twenty days
In 2017 Shaun Gash and Gavin Levitt are planning to make a difference and need your help and support along the way
The challenge is this:
To travel self propelled in wheelchairs from Lands End to John O Groats in under 20 days which will set a new Guinness World Record.
This is where you come in!
We need 20 area managers to help make this possible and of course help to smash your own personal goals!
Think outside the box and get local press to cover your local team and charity and use it for corporate sponsors through t-shirts etc
Maybe your local supermarket will pledge a wheelchair to a child if we come and track down the isles.
We want to get people to help plan this challenge, and we are breaking the country into 20 day slices, and for each area we want someone, or indeed a team to plan that day from start to finish as follows:
- Arrange meeting point for SG (Shaun and Gav) and set off for the day
- Escort vehicle drivers
- Support crew
- TV and press coverage
- Corporate sponsorship
- Visits to local schools, charities, or individuals
- Teams to join in and get sponsored to do a day (50 miles) or groups to run a mile to 10 miles
- Find a local charity close to your heart and we will raise money for them!*
(*This could be an individual who needs a stair lift, a special wheelchair or a sensory room or a group who need new kit, equipment or respite - On your day we want to give them that requirement, not just money).
So what do we do next?
Firstly I want you to think long and hard about how you can help, and how together in 2017 we can change people's lives. This is mass participation and we plan to be the catalyst for good sweeping the nation.
If you can help, please get in touch or let people know who may be able to help ie businesses, media etc etc and we will start to relay information as the plan comes together for the course route and segmental break up.
