Sharon Hood had put herself forward to Eden Care as a recipient for our support. The family needed a specialist wheelchair to help their young son Daniel, who has a range of conditions. In her own words, this is what it would mean to the family:
“Daniel is a lively active boy who gets tired due to his Autism, ADHD and other conditions. The wheelchair will give him somewhere safe and secure to rest when he needs to. Also in certain situations he needs to be in a wheelchair because he refuses to walk or isn’t coping with his surroundings. He is outgrowing his current wheelchair and it is rather old now too. Without your support he wouldn’t be getting a new wheelchair at the moment. So we are very grateful Daniel was chosen to be helped.”
So of course Dawn, Gav, Collette and myself couldn't say NO to helping a young boy and his family with providing a Trotter wheelchair which is specific to his needs.
The cost of the chair was £350 which from the kind donations received on our Go Fund page we were able to purchase.
The weekend of the 24th June, Shaun Dawn and Paula met Sharon and Daniel and handed over the chair and spent an amazing morning with them both.
Thank you to everyone who has donated and made this happen.
